The Last Supper

Topic: New Testament Scripture: Matthew 26:1–26:35
This Sunday, we begin Matthew's Passion account - the last days of Jesus' earthly ministry, culminating in His crucifixion and then resurrection. But there are a few crucial events along the way. One of them was the very last meal that Jesus shared with His disciples. We've come to know this as "The Last Supper," because Jesus told His disciples that they should replicate this meal often to remember what it took for the forgiveness of sins. In the middle of all life's dramas (and there are plenty of dramas right now), it is good to be comforted by the knowledge that God has solved our biggest problem - the sin that separates us from Him.
