November 25, 2018 Preacher: Rich Priebbenow Series: I Am With You Always

Topic: New Testament Scripture: Matthew 13:1–13:23

Jesus told lots of parables about seeds and fruit and harvests. So, what's the purpose of them? Just a clever teaching tool - a catchy way to communicate eternal realities?

This week in our journey through Matthew we find that the purpose behind Jesus' parables isn't quite so comfortable. Jesus uses them not so much to simplify truth but to stir up what's in our hearts. It's not enough to just hear them. What matters is how we hear them.

As we hear the parables of Jesus, the challenge is to examine our hearts.

They're a lot more than clever, familiar stories. What matters most - what matters eternally - is how we listen and respond to them!
