Let's face it, a lot of people don't 'get' the Gospel. They've heard Amazing Grace, and yet they still think you get to Heaven by your own efforts.
Nothing could be more ungracious than a zealous legalist. And nothing could be more gracious than a holy God who is full of mercy and compassion.
This is a lesson the Pharisees struggled to learn, and one we must understand too if we are to see how the law of God and the grace of God go hand in hand.
