A Noble Task: the goal for every man

September 2, 2018 Preacher: Greg Gardiner Series: 'One Offs'

Topic: Topical Scripture: 1 Timothy 3:1–3:7

This Sunday is Father's Day and so we are going to take a short break from our series in the Book of Revelation for a one-off look at the qualifications for being an Elder.

When Paul wrote to Timothy in Ephesus encouraging him to appoint Elders, he wrote very specific details for the sort of men he should be looking for.

Being an Elder is not a recognition that you've made it as a Christian or an invitation to wield authority like we often see in the world. Instead, it's a very special shepherding task that should only be given to a man who is mature in his character, his witness, and how he leads his family.

This is something every Christian man should aspire to!
