Remain As You Were

November 13, 2016 Preacher: Greg Gardiner Series: Getting It Right

Topic: New Testament Scripture: 1 Corinthians 7:10–7:24

For Christian missionaries who have served in Asia there is a term they are familiar with called Rice Christians - which is a reference to people who say they have come to faith in Jesus, but only, it seems, so they can access food aid. Faith was seen as a ticket to a better life.

Even today we can be lured into thinking that faith in Jesus is the key to God giving us what we want.

For others, when they become Christians, there comes the pressure to conform to certain church traditions.

In this week's passage, the Apostle Paul encourages us to embrace our station in life and serve God faithfully in the place He has put us.
